No matter how much fun you try to make exercise and no matter how much we tell you about how great you will feel; more times than not when you first start to exercise you will probably dislike it. When you first start it will be difficult and it may even hurt! Your lungs are tight your muscles are sore and you feel tired! You MUST stick to your routine during this stage. One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is to forgo or take a day off when they feel tired and tell themselves they just don’t have enough energy to do a workout.
Here is a little secret, that is known to those who have become habitual exercisers; effort creates energy! So do not wait to charge back up when you are tired but instead create it by putting forth effort. Challenge yourself and see if I am right, push through the urge to take a day off especially when you are starting out to make your exercise routine a habit!
If the little voice inside is saying you don’t have time to exercise, trust me it’s a boldface lie. By adding exercise in you will eventually gain more energy and be able to do more plus it will give you a better sense of well being. This in turn can help you be more efficient when you are working.
I promise you will move past this first stage of being tired. In fact if you talk to people who have been exercising for a long period of time they feel like something is missing from there day when they don’t do some form of exercise. Once you have got this stage you have probably created a healthy habit that will stick with you and pay wonderful dividends!
