Living Life on Purpose

Living Life on Purpose by Jeremy Scott

Waking up just for a paycheck….

Spending your lifetime to payoff debt….

Slaving away the best years of your life for “material stuff”…

            Being uninspired M-F 40 plus hours a week…

            Working for the weekend….

However you want to phrase it, that shit is depressing as hell to think about. Walking through for own life like a zombie week-to-week, check-to-check, being swallowed by a sea of mediocrity, unfulfilled, uninspired and unhappy at your core…that is NO WAY to spend your life.

That little kid inside you is pissed, he hates you for this, it’s the inner you that cries out for so much more. Your potential is there waiting to be tapped into, use, and shared with the world.

Think back, there was once a time, an age where almost anything seemed possible; you wanted to be an athlete, fireman, police officer, artist, cowboy, shit I even wanted to be Batman, (between us I still do.)

That was then, and this is the reality now…

You find yourself an “adult” choking on deadlines, meetings, emails, and busywork.

Before you know it you go from 22 to 42 working for someone else’s dream, thinking about what you could have or should have done with your time.

I am writing this to tell you today, it doesn’t have to be like this. I don’t care if you are 15 or 95 you have the rest of your life to do whatever you want with it.

When you are doing what makes you happy, what you enjoy, what you really love, nothing else really matters. It’s not just about money, job titles, and material things, it’s about growth, contributing and doing something that means something to you inside.

I can tell you from personal experience and my inner circle of friends would share the same, we don’t care what people think or say about our job titles, salary, or status on the career food chain.

Fitness, Nutrition, Writing, and Coaching people has literally changed and saved my life!

When I got into fitness it wasn’t about money, prestige, status, fame or the stuff I could get. I honestly just didn’t want to hate what I did everyday for a living. I lived the office cube life for a short time; to me it seemed like a funeral home.

Now some of you love your office life, you love your jobs and what you do and I think that is amazing. Some of you are changing the world from your cubes with great passion and fire, but that just didn’t work for me.

It took me going out on my own, to find my passion, my calling, and to feel like I am contributing to my full potential.

I write this for you out there that might be stuck in a proverbial rut, or sit at a crossroads of what to do with your professional life. It’s not just a job with the amount of time we spend doing it, it becomes part of us, who we are, how we think, it becomes a defined part of us.

I urge anyone out there if you have a dream, if you have a passion, a desire for something more, take the first step to making it happen.

I was a nervous, scared, overwhelmed kid when I left the office life and went on my own; about 7 years later it’s the best decision I ever made. I feel alive, inspired, motivated, and have gratitude everyday I wake up…my wish would be all of you reading this could feel the same.

Just know you can, the choice is truly yours!
