Mind Body Connection – Jeremy Scott

Mind Body Connection as I see it…..

Many of you have heard the term mind body connection in terms of fitness, strength training and everything involved with your mental and physical body.

In a nutshell my belief is that how you think about yourself, how you look, feel, your confidence, your stress level, how you carry yourself not only affects you internally but externally as well. There are tons of studies on cortisol, your hormone balance, Ect. and how it affects our body composition, but I am talking about even more than that.

The past few weeks I have had some uncontrolled issues that have caused some extra stress in my life, and for the most part I try and not worry about things I can’t control because there is really no point to it. However, sometimes it’s just inevitable certain things will always get to certain people.

Well, I received a message from a fellow fitness professional here in Phoenix Mike DeMarzo that I wanted to share with you guys.

“Someone once said that the smartest of us only use 10% of our brain power (wonder what I use than).

Everything in life comes from your thoughts!! You are in the shape you are in because of your thoughts.

How many times have you worked out and really wanted to be at happy hour?

Lastly, 99.9% of our success is determined by how we think.

Your subconscious mind never argues with you.

You always get to be right, be it a negative thought or a positive one. So you might as well think good thoughts!

Be grateful for what we have. Look where we live and we are doing what we love to do.”

I shared this because I believe it to be true, the more positive you can be about every situation in your life – fitness included the better your results will be.

So, if you look in the mirror and get depressed because you think your fat and out of shape – please do these 2 things

1.    Stop thinking that way and do something about it.

2.    If you have been working out already appreciate how far you have come and keep kicking ass on your journey and be positive about the future.

Everything in life is always better when you see the bright side of things and keep a positive mind set, I am learning that myself more and more each day!
