What is the Ketogenic Diet?

But due to popular request I made a podcast on it to help you see if this is lifestyle way of eating for you.
Simple stupid….the ketogenic diet is an extremely low carb, moderate protein, and high fat diet which throws the body into a metabolic state known as ketosis.
What all that means is that when you figure out your macros…which we have a podcast and video on already as well (proteins, carbs, fats) – the keto diet focuses on mostly fats, some protein and little to almost no carbs.
The goal of going keto is to get your body into what we call ketosis.
When you’re body is in ketosis, your liver produces ketones which become the main energy source for the body and this is all factored around the consumption of fat (healthy legit fats)
Why would someone eat this way or attempt this protocol?
The Keto diet is based around the idea that your body was built to function better and more efficient as a fat burning machine and not a carb burning machine.
