I wanted to share this with you guys, it’s a saying that I believe in %100. I try and live my life to a high standard that I set for myself, not measuring my goals by others around me. If you have a goal, a dream, a vision, the worst thing you can do is accept your circumstances and just follow the flock.
I have probably heard these things a million times: “Just come out and party for once”, “Just skip a workout for once”, “Just have at least one drink tonight”, “You can have a few cookies, it won’t kill you”
With that said I do enjoy myself on rare occasions, with some drinks, treats, cheat meals but if every time during the year I had “just one drink, just one cookie” I would be no better than average.
All these “one drinks” all these “few cookies” they add up quick……..let me explain
If you eat perfect, I am talking clean lean proteins, fruits, veggies and oats everyday all year except for….
Birthday Parties, Holidays, Social Events – Super Bowl Party, Weddings, Reunions, Vacations, ect….
You would still cheat on your diet and training at least 30 days a year that’s 1 whole month of eating trash, mix that with your usual cheat days and any emotional eating you have over 60-90 days of bad eating at least.
The point is take some advice from Arnold – don’t always be like everybody else, hold yourself to a higher standard, be healthy, be fit, stick out from the crowd. Be the person who shows up to the pool party this summer and turn’s heads making people look and say “holy shit amazing body what dedication”! There is a hell of a lot more pride in those comments than the beers you would drink.
So, if nothing else hold yourself to the 90/10 rule – 90% of the time you eat and train perfect and 10% of the time you let loose. Don’t be average; don’t settle for less than your potential and make sure your ambition exceeds your talent in fitness and every arena of your life!
